Hey Frank; From another Frank. I used to own an old Harley 45 cub inch with the hand shift on the tank, girder forks, solid rear end. That motor was so noisy I was convinced it was going to break apart. I took it to a former dealer who although retired, still worked on Harleys, he listened to it, laughed and said; "When they sound like that, they're runnin' good!" I just got my Savage this past Feb, got 2400 on it, yeah, I can hear valves and other stuff, but like the man said "It's runnin' good!"
